My check engine light comes on after I have driven the car mostly on warm days. Usually I can get it to clear by turning the key on and off a few times but today it won't clear at all. The ECU does not flash any codes and the car will not start when the light is on. Anyone have any ideas on what I can check? or an easy way to reset the ecu so the light will go off? I have tried removing the hazard fuse and disconecting the negitive battery cable but that did not help.

Re: check engine light??
sounds like you may have a bad ECU.

Re: check engine light??
is it a dual point engine ifso see if it's throwing code sixteen usually those injector's have sort of a vapor lock where it evaporates before it hits the cylinder or something like that but just guessing for ur case good luck!

bad ecu? Would that cause it not to start? Someone I spoke with thinks it may be the after market alarm in the car because of the fact that it should still start with the check engine light on and its not.
