synthetic blend after full synthetic.

ok, well Ive been running full synthetic in my car since I got it and the guy before me said he was too. so I tell my mom, full synthetic 10w30 when she goes to the store(45 minutes away, dont go too often) and I even write it down for her but just like a mom, she pulls a dumb ass move and brings me synthetic blend 10W30. what is the consequence of stepping back to synthetic blend for one 3k mile duration then go back up to full synthetic again? or should I just run to the store and get some ful synthetic.

Re: synthetic blend after full synthetic.

I don't see anything bad happening, the blend just won't clean as well. But it is just 3K miles. I would say that it is fine.

Re: synthetic blend after full synthetic.

If she would've bought conventional oil, that's when you should worry a bit.

I wouldnt put the conventional stuff in for sure, would just go get some full syn, but since you all dont see any problems Il just do it.

Re: synthetic blend after full synthetic.

you can mix conventional with synthetic and synthetic blend all day and you'll be fine.
