99 Taurus SE....Electrical Probs.

I have a list...the cruise control and horn just stopped working at the same time. PReviously, the cc seemed to have short...it wouldn't always set...I would have to continuoulsy press the set button. The windshield wipers go off sporadically, once or twice and then will stop....it only seems to happen during acceleration at lower speeds (under 25 mph). My low coolant light is always on...I assume it is just the sensor....

What do you think could be the cause of the wipers, cruise control, and horn?

The Multifunction Switch in the steering column controls:
- windshield wipers speed
- turn signals, front and rear, left and right
- headlights flash to pass
- hazard lights
Might be something to consider after checking fuses.

Some tilt wheel vehicles have problems with not enough slack in the wiring harness to accomodate the tilt. This could cause the harness to pull loose from the multifunction switch (see above for it's circuits) and your clockspring (horn, airbad, cruise). Not common on Taurauses but given your symptoms, definately worth checking out.
