would this be ricing?

Would it be ricing my camaro (95z28) if i put the slp "Ultra Z" ram air hood on it but left the induction system to the SLP cold air intake?

and another question, on the stock hood would it be bad to remove the hood insulation? would that mess up the paint?

Thanks much

Re: would this be ricing?

yes, bad, both of them, why would waste all that potential you have with an ultra z hood (ram air) by keeping the slp intake, i would go with like an ls1 intake with the lid off, there is a kit that goes with that hood, check into it. lt1 loves ram air!

Re: would this be ricing?

I hate when people don't know the facts..... you wont get any more power out of a Ram air intake than you would with a CAI..... A CAI actualy will give you a fraction more hp.... You would have to be traveling in excess of 200mph for the Ram air intake to actualy ram any air.... its been proven... so no i dont think you would be a ricer by having your ultra z hood non functional.... its just a look your going for.... and you do have the power under the hood already with the CAI....

Re: would this be ricing?

guys camaros, firebirds, and mustangs are AMERICAN MUSCLE CARS....remember? products to make the car look more agressive and faster isnt RICE! i think people has been watching too many fast and the furious movies. i beleive that those movies destroyed the way that we see our cars.

Re: would this be ricing?

im with Tacoma on this one.. really rice is hard to achieve on a decent american car.. if you start getting into body kits and strange colors and big wings and sticks and graphics.. you went to far, please rejoin us on the planet earth...

but an Ultra Z hood is a pretty good choice.. although i like the SS style a little better...

Re: would this be ricing?

i was just in early grade school when the 3rd gens ruled the roads. i used to see them with neon lights underneath that matched the colors of the cars. i always said that i would have a 85-92 camaro when i got my lisense. and put neons under it, now what was the trend back then is now considered ricey to some people. i guess some of u guys that are younger than me dont remember the 80's when stuff that is now considered rice was cool to have.

Re: would this be ricing?

i used to go to car shows with my grandpa all the time when i was little, he used to take his 68 Camaro everywhere, and i used to see neon kits all over (especially on the old street rods), and flamethrowers, it was awesome.. i to this day have a red neon underbody kit on my car, and i dont consider it ricey(although i installed it good, so you cant see the tubes unless you are completely under the car, unlike most cars where you can see the tube from 100 feet away, lol).. the flamethrower kits either.. those were sweet back then and are just as cool now in my opinion..
