I need to replace the heater core in my daily driver. Some one please tell me i dont have to remove the entire dash to do this! I drive this care everyday it gets like 35 mpg and have been feeding my bronco in its absence. HELP!

under the dash on the passenger is usalllly were its located,just look under there.youll have to remove the water/coolant lines first,then check the valve at the bottom,these should be on the firewall under the hood.just look for two lines with screwable clamps on the fire wallone goes to the engine the other goes to the water pump.if you cant do it your self you can bypass it using whats already under the hood.1st you take the line on the water pump and put it straight to the engine.thats all.you wont have heat but you wont have steam either.you see the water pump has a hose going to the heater core ,then from the core theres a hose that travles to the block,just a simple bypass.be sure not to leave hoses laying around the mani fold or anything els that is hot.if you still need more info on the removal of the heater core just tell me.but let us knowwhat happines.i hope i helped you a little

If you have a GT model you do not have to remove the dash. I recently replaced the heater core in a 1988 GT model, and manuals etc. state the heater core is located behind the glove box.....it isn't on a GT. The heater core is located just forward of the center console. Place the car on stands and remove the hoses and heater tubing bolted to the engine. Remove the lower console (heater control). You will see the heater box, remove the duct work, and I believe there were four screws holding the bottom of the box. You will have to pull the rug back from the firewall to get enough clearance to remove the cover. The heater core is mounted in rubber seals, and you have to tip the core upward to remove it. I purchased my replacement core at NAPA, and it cost about $33.00
