Question 95 Front Speed Sensor replacement

What needs to be done to replace the speed sensor on a 95? I pulled the wheels off to start removing the dif (another post) and noticed both speed sensors were cut. Out of curiosity, I removed the dash assembly and sure enough the ABS bulb was removed. The Haynes manual I've got gives no info on speed sensor replacement.
Is there a single sensor on the rear dif or one at each wheel.

I have a feeling that the hassle of getting the 4 wheel ABS to work may be more than it's worth.

Thanks,

Al T.

Why not just clean and reconnect the sensors and pop in a new bulb and go from there.

Re: Re: 95 Front Speed Sensor replacement

Actually have put a bulb into the dash, get one blink and then solid when the key is turned on. I've resoldered the driver's side but haven't got to the passenger side yet. I was kind of wondering if the leads were resistance sensitive or something that wouldn't allow me to repair by soldering? With all I've read about them on this site it sounds like they should be cleaned also. Once I pull the rotors off I'm assuming I can remove the sensors to clean?

Thanks

Yes, you should be able to remove them from the hub assembly and clean them and get rid of the grit and grime.

Whoever did this belongs in jail.

Do you know who did this?

No, we bought the Blazer used last summer. Funny though, that we had an inspection done by a reputable garage prior to purchasing and they didn't notice that the cables to the senosrs were cut nor that the ABS light in the dash wasn't working.

Re: 95 Front Speed Sensor replacement

I would be contacting a lawyer if it was from a used car lot.

BTW, did you take it to your mechanic or the one recommended by the seller?
