Tapping Noise

2001 LS V6 makes tapping noise from engine at all times. ALso, stalls when stopped. Any ideas?

not sure about the tapping but would like to know if you car stalls or shutsdown while in motion?

Stalled when pulling into a parking space, moving less than 5 mph, and stalled when stopped. The tapping sounds like a valve tap.

could just be the valvetrain.

my stalling/shutdown issue began like that and progressed to shuting down at highway speeds. The fix for my car was replacing the rear electronic module and the 2 fuel pumps.

Some of the early LS's had cracked exhaust manifolds early.
