new owner- 86 wiring and parts questions

I just bought a 86 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer. The body is in great shape but it hasnt been run in 3 years. My main problem is the wiring, aparently lots of different people have worked on the wiring and wires are going everywhere and still nothing works. Is there somewhere I can just buy a whole new wiring harness for the Jeep? or is a salvage yard my best bet? Also, is there anywhere that specializes in Jeep parts that could prove useful down the line?
