Engine sputtering

I have a 1999 pontiac grand prix gt that i am storing for the winter and whenever i go out to start it wich is about every 4 days it starts up but sputters. Now whenever it does this all i have to do is give it a little gas and it smooths out. O.K. now heres my question, what exactly would cause this to happen. Also my number 1 fuel injector is chatttering real bad, as in twice as loud as the engine.. Any help would be great.

John

Re: Engine sputtering

clogged fuel injector maybe if your fuel injector is 'chattering'.

You said it smooths out when you give it gas - is that just when it's idling. If so, it could be your Idle Air Control motor.

If it's while your on the road, could be
wires
plugs
coil packs
fuel filter
plugged cat converter

Re: Engine sputtering

Not really sure if it does it on the road or not. Ive had it in storage and if i get caught dring car on road insurance will drop me and bank will get pissed. But i did take it on road about a month ago and it acted fine, just at start up is when it does it.
