I got poopra'd on!

On my way home from a party I figured I'd stop by Taco Cabana and get me some fajitas...good shit

anyway, on my way out of the drive thru I see some HID's approaching FAST....then of course, I hear a LOUD, and i mean LOUD PSSSHHHH that can only mean one thing. Enter the Lexus IS300 with a massive turbo.

Immediately I knew it was a turbo 2jz which already means I am gonna get my ass kicked, but what the hell, it's all in good fun, it's cold out, and I'm in the mood for a race. I line up next to him at about 30 mph on a 45mph road. I lower the window and yell on the 3rd honk.

He honks and on the 3rd I floor it, boost kicks in immediately and I start pulling hard, then I look over, and the IS300 is already about 5 cars ahead and a gear ahead of me. (he had what sounded like a HKS SSQ BOV). I run it to the end of 2nd (around 70) and slow down. He's got about 8 or more lengths on me, I wasn't counting, but he was distant.

I catch up to him and tell him to pull over. I already know it's a turbo 2jz, but when I saw the engine my jaw dropped. The turbo was massive, dammit I can't remember what turbo he said it was, but it was about the side of my head, so yeah.

Well we talk for a bit, turns out he's from Houston, he runs an 11.1, damn. He's got a completely built engine with just about everything including a nice FMIC. He's looking to dyno in the 700s. He said he's going for the sleeper look, which makes sense because his FMIC is covered up with a black fence, but it didn't seem to be blocking air flow because of how it was built. His exterior was stock, down to the rims. Anywho, we talked for a bit and I got his number so he can come cruise with my boys (none can really keep up with him), but he was a cool guy.

Now I'm sittin in front of the laptop enjoying some taco cabana....nice

Well, I got something to shoot for hahaha.

I just saw a vid of a turbo IS300 walking on a bunch of cars at racingflix.com. Good video too. This particular one put down like 550 to the wheels. Nutty.

lol damn...sounds like fun...did he do anything to the exhaust?? i'd think the stock exhaust would be so restrictive...'specially for 700 hp...

Re: I got poopra'd on!

I geuss he runs high 13's low 14's 1/4 mile depending on how well he drives. Turbo Eclipse GT-S correct? Awsome death. I wish i had gotten the number of that guy i raced in my moms truck...lol Nissan Frontier v. Supercharged LS1.....i think he said he ran in the mid 12's on drag dadials and low 13's on street tires, but im not sure.
anyway, that sounds like a damn nice car. The only tacos we have around here for take out are taco bell...but im not compaining, i love the chalupa's.

Re: I got poopra'd on!

I've seen stock GS-Ts run as slow as 16s and as fast as mid 15s. And dude...a stock LS1 will run 13s on street tires and 12s on drag radials. Now a supercharged LS1..that's an easy 11 second car with drag radials.

Re: I got poopra'd on!

I'm not sure about the exhaust. I know it HAD to be upgraded but it looked rather stock to me, but maybe there is some exhausts that look stock for that car at least at the muffler, but it had a more grunt sound to it.

I wish I ran high 13's...If i had to guess I'd say high 14's, maybe low 15's. An expert driver can get my car stock to like 14.7 or something, and I have minimal mods (see sig). I'll take it to the track once I get some more serious mods.

Re: I got poopra'd on!

How much boost are you running? Your next mod should be a manual boost controller. Very inexpensive.
As far as the LS1 goes. Im jsut going by what i remember. Maybe he was listing off his stock Numbers.

I've heard people around here talk about a guy that has a turbo IS300 that's insanely fast. I haven't seen him yet.. I've only ran two IS300's, and they both looked stock. Beat them both by the same margin.. like a car or so.. not much.
