About -10 at cruise and about -20 at idle (yes, it's A/T). Remember that altitude also influences the readings-- for reference, I'm pretty much right at sea level.

Re: Those w/boostguages....
I used to be right at 20 in. hg with my T25, but now I'm around 13-15 with my Evo 16g.
Probably just Jake having broken my car.. ![]() At cruising speeds it is entirely relative to throttle position.

Re: Those w/boostguages....
Well, I have an exhaust leak somewhere that I have yet to pinpoint. It's either turbo to manifold or turbo to o2 housing I think. So I suppose that may be causing it...what do you think?
I believe timing is good, the car runs smoothly and I trust Jake's timing work. I'll have to take it to a shop up here and see if they can fix the exhaust leak--I don't have anywhere to work on the car up here, and there's no way in hell I am working on it in the parking lot in 15 degree weather

Re: Those w/boostguages....
Does less vacuum mean anything in terms of idling well, which is the intermediate effect of cams? Not sure if that makes sense. Is less or more vacuum bad for the engine?

Re: Those w/boostguages....
Its not at 13! When I was there it was at 17. Same place mine is at right now. I have never had a car run 20, even stock. Now with timing, there is no way to adjust 95-96 cause they dont use and adjustable cam/crank sensors. Took it off and put it back on just like any other car I have done.

Re: Those w/boostguages....
I usually get 15-16 (sometimes 17) inches of Hg at idle - stock cams/head/intake mani/no vacuum/boost leaks or very very minute leaks if any. It seems to vary slightly with the weather, but I'm not sure whether or not it really is the weather that is effecting my vacuum.
I've always been told that 18-20 inches was what it should be at idle for our cars with stock cams. However, I've never been able to achieve that for some reason. I'm also about 650 feet above sea level, if that means anything.

Re: Those w/boostguages....
thanks for the info!!! When i'm at cruise of 55mph my vac is about 10Hg and when at a stop light idle is about 600 and vac is 18-20hg
Also when my foot slips of the brake and 'accidentally' hits the gas it goes to about 13-14psi....hmmmm whatever that is.... te he he Nah anyways just thought i'd see what the masses had to say... Thanks
