HELP my 90 2.0 si won't go above 4200 rpm

Please any information would be helpfull. I have a 90 honda prelude 2.0 si and a couple weeks ago it started studdering and won't go above 4200 rpm. I didn't get a mile and it died on me completely after a series of sputtering. the computer said it was a crank angle sensor (code 4) so I got a new one and put it in. It still didn't start so I checked and my timing was off one cam a tooth forward and one cam two teeth back. I just redid my timing (belt was changed 20k miles ago) and the belt looks fine. Now the timing looks perfect. Anyway it still wouldn't start, I discovered the screw in the rotor came out. I put that back in and the car started. It purrs now and it has never idled this nice. But the problem was when I went to leave to return tools to autozone it seems like the car is missing power then as I got up some speed I hit 4200 rpm and it starts stuttering, it will not go above 4200 rpm at all not even in neutral. It still has a check engine light for the crank angle sensor but I know its working cause if I disconnect the plug to it it kills the engine immediately. I have reset the computer and before I start the car it says no codes but soon as I start it code 4 shows back up. I obviously just turned around and came back home. I can let it sit there and idle and it sounds awesome but when I go to 4200 rpm it starts cutting out on me and sounds like its missfiring and just won't go any faster. I am at a complete loss now, I don't even know what else to check. the only other thing I can thing of is right under the rotor is a small part that has a couple scratches in it from when the screw came out of the rotor but I don't even know what that thing is or does. I am really hoping I don't have to get a new distributor as that thing is freaking expensive, I just paid 100 for that crank sensor and I don't get if the computer says it isn't working but I unplug it with the engine idleing and it kills the engine that tells me the part must be working or it wouldn't start plus its brand new (chiltons doesn't tell you how to change that freakin part and it was not fun). The Crank sensor looks like it might go in 180 out but I checked to see if possibly it would go on 180 out but it doesn't so it must be on there right. Anyway I am at a complete loss and I HOPE someone out there can help me.

I would say check the distributor rotor/cap, plugs, and wires first. But Im guessing that its the distributor. I seen one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW
