Post TPR performance parts

Hi all,

I'm representing Tuning Precision Racing, aka TPR, a new performance parts company which is tearing up the aftermarket.

TPR is a new company dedicated to bringing consumers better performance parts at a lower price. So far, TPR has only dealt with the 2000 + Toyota Celica, but in the next few months, we'll be expanding our lines into new territories.

Here are some dyno charts to prove the performance improvement of the TPR CAI versus competitors' intakes:
TPR vs. Stock http://www.newcelica.org/other/dyno/tpr/Stock-TPR.jpg
TPR vs. AEM http://www.newcelica.org/other/dyno/tpr/AEM-TPR.jpg
TPR vs. Injen http://www.newcelica.org/other/dyno/tpr/Injen-TPR.jpg

Here's the chart for the axle-back exhaust:

Basically, the point of this thread is to see if there is a DSM market for TPR. In other words, you guys tell us what you want, and if there's enough interest, we'll look into making the product.

So, what parts do you guys want to see?

Re: TPR performance parts

Well, the only thing I can really think of is the following:

A nice front-mount intercooler KIT (bar/plate) at a decent price would be great. Usually we have to spend $800-1000 just for a quality front-mount (that HAS been tested and proven, mind you). Even this isn't really necessary, but if you can make a nice one at a good price then it'd sweet! Everything we have pertaining to parts is pretty much set in stone as to what we use. There are a variety of setups, but 99% of DSMers stick to basically the same companies. A new company producing a good front-mount will ALWAYS be a good thing, though.

Re: TPR performance parts

guitarXgeek,
Thanks for the reply. An intercooler sounds like a great idea, and I don't see why we wouldn't be able to bring a superior one at a fair price. If there is enough interest, this could be a good possibility.

Re: TPR performance parts

I would love to see:
1) cheaper, mandrel bent turbo back exhaust systems
2) cheaper but quality fmic kits
3) cheaper short shifter kit

You also might be able to profit from offering a downpipe with a built in cutout (and electric actuator).

Just a few ideas I think DSMers might be receptive to.

Re: TPR performance parts

Your muffler added 10 whp? We would all like cheaper prices, but I don't think a new venture will put products at a low cost. If you can prove me wrong, beat the big vendors and get my business too.

Re: TPR performance parts

Looks like an FMIC is a popular request. I'll have to do some market annalysis to see what current prices are and who the competition is, so give me a little time and I think we can surprise most of you.

Re: TPR performance parts

Yes, FMIC definately. If you were to offer proven products at a "superior" price, I am sure people would buy regardless of what DSMers have bought thus far.

Re: TPR performance parts

ok folks, since you guys want an intercooler, i'll see what I can do to get one for you. i've already started on the design, which i think you all will be very happy with. i can't give any price estimates yet, but we'll definitely be shooting for less than the competition sells for, but with better quality.

Re: TPR performance parts

Yea definately the most expensive thing for a stage 1 setup for our cars is a fmic IMO. There are the cores out there for like 250 bucks, and if you get your own pipes you might end up paying under 600. Thats what i would love to pay for a nice not rediculously huge FMIC.

what do you mean by not rediculously huge? most people want the biggest core possible. it's making the core efficient that's the problem. most cores are about 55% to 65% efficient from what i've seen. although APS (right acronym?) makes a great one for the 350Z TT that's nearly 100% efficient.

Re: TPR performance parts

what size intercooler best suits the general DSM owner?

24"x12"x3.5" w/ 3" in and outlets?

since we're not a custom shop, the intercooler will have to be just one size.
