Your car should only have an entry alarm and not a fuel or engine shut down. You got something else going on.

Re: Will Not Start

Hey, I had the same problem last year. Try this.

Crank the motor, if the check engine light flashs then check the connection and wires to the crankshaft rotation sensor. Mine had corroded a little and just required unplugging and plugging back in.

Sensor is located at the front of the motor at the bottom right on the crankshaft pulley. Find the lowest pulley that the belt goes around, find the sensor and check the plug and wire.

Mine fired right up after I worked on it for 3 days.

Re: Re: Will Not Start

If it was the factory alarm that is triggered by the Key, the dash light would be activated as it is when you attempt to start a Ford with a 'plain' or duplicated key, as opposed to the $80 one with the transmitter in it.

What you need...is a computer code check, if you know anyone or have the $100 for an OBD II system to plug into it.

Re: Will Not Start

Have you tried m_klarich's suggestion yet? (I couldn't if I wanted to just yet; it hasn't risen above 27 degrees F here in Tennessee, heh.)
