wiper blade confusion

I know changing the wiper blades isn't a very hard process (never done it before) but I have an 02 GXE and the instructions don't look much like my windshield wiper blades. I got the lexor 22" and 16" and it's telling me to take the side pin arm out, which I can't find. I see the hook arm and the bayonet arm but no side pin arm. Any help is appreciated.

My suggestion is to take it back to the auto parts store and have one of the workers there put it on for you. That's what I did for my 02 Spec V, and I'm sure it's the same blades as your car.

Re: wiper blade confusion

There are three types of wiper arms put on cars today - bayonet, hook, and pin types. The manufacturer of the wind shield wiper you bought has provided plastic adaptors to use for the type of arm on your car. The blades themselves are generic.

To remove the pin type blade, use a screwdriver to pry against the arm and the wiper near the pin mount on the arm until a retaining spring in the wiper is loose. Install new blade by pushing wiper over the pin until it snaps into place. No adaptor should be needed for this type.

Hook type wipers are removed by pulling the old wiper toward you. Use one of the adaptors with the new blade and push wiper back on.

To remove bayonet type wipers, a retaining clip on the old adaptor must be pushed in.
