Transmission

My daughter has a 1988 Chevy Celebrity 4-door car with 85,000 miles. She pulled up to a stop sign and the transmission quit working. I brought it home and it runs if the front end is off the ground but it will not pull the car. I checked the lines and have some fluid moving, dipstick reads the same running and shut off. The transmission tries to move.
