starting my 69 cutlass

hi, i am 15 just bought my first car. a 1969 cutlass with the rocket 350. It has been sitting in a barn for 20 some years and was wonderingt things i shoud do to get it running again. thanks for any help

Re: starting my 69 cutlass

I would remove the spark plugs and squirt a few oil into the spark plug hole. Drain the oil and replace the oil filter (fill the oil filter 3/4 oil). Start the engine with the spark plug still removed and see if the engine even turns over. Crank it a couple of times and then put back a new spark plugs and crank the engine.
