Smile Ready To Laugh??!!

Hey all, check this out!!

I was driving home from my fiance's place last night, when i saw
the world's funniest street race ever witnessed.

I'm at a red light, behind a geo metro with 5 people crammed in
and to the right of the geo is a toyota echo, with 5 people again!

Naturally i thought it was funny as the two were like clown cars!!
But then the cars started to rev at each other! By this point i'm in
tears!

The light turns green, they both pop the clutch, and needless to say
it was about head to head through their first 2-3 gears, which by the
time they put into 4th were travelling at about 65km/h. ( that's about 35-40mph) . So here i am in second gear of the Bonneville following these two idiot mobiles down the road that are maxing out at 80 km/h
laughing so hard i was in pain!

The echo ended up winning as i seemed to have more power in the top end, but it won by passing the geo at close to 84 km/h when the geo
dropped down to 78 km/h or so.

Just thought i'd share that piece of humor with you.

Take it easy all!! :silly2:

ha, that's funny, but unfortunately it's when idiots like that crash or screw up with a car full of people, that racing gets a bad name.

they were probly laughing thier asses off too. People can have fun no matter what they drive....from what your describing they were doing it on a fairly uninhabited road, and just screwing around....no reason to say they are giving racing a bad name

It is a good thing that they drive what they do. The streets are safe for now.

Too bad you didn't have a camcorder. That is funny!

Maybe it was a trial run to get into the Guiness Book of World's Records as the slowest car race ever?

its true. even my camry can seem fast. it revs quite happily and seems to accelerate. but don't let it fool you for a second. it is slow. doesn't mean I can'r have fun though
