Rear hatch electrical problems

I have a 01 Caravan SE.
When I bought this van used the rear hatch handle did not work. I believe it is electronic and not mechanical in the 01's. It does open with the key manually. Now the rear wiper and washer stopped working. All the fuses are fine. I've read that there is a body computer that may need resetting? How and where it is I'm not sure. From all the reading I've done on the Caravans it seems like the largest complaints are for electrical and transmisions problems. I hope I don't have problems with the transmision as I hear they can be REAL pricey to fix. Anyone have an idea where to start with the electrical problems?

Try disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds. That resets the BCM.
