OT: Lord of the Rings online game
A company that I work with just launched a online game for Lord of the Rings:
http://lotr.ourapp.net/ It is cool and will test your knowledge of the books. |

Question 1 wouldnt let me click an answer.
Question 2 I got right and then it froze with "Trivia Engine Network Error. Network function timed out: AnswerMovieEvent Your connection to the Trivia Engine server has been interupted." Looks like it could be cool though! Cheers |

Ahh... that combo seems to be causing them grief.
Thanks for the reply. Maybe you can find a machine with a real OS (XP Pro) and then play it. :apoke: |

Yeah - you gotta register it etc. (I know Im not Rhombus..but) I have (actually had) it on my Sony Vaio and got so pissed with it I downgraded to 2000 Pro. If you dont register it - it wont work for long and it matches to you. When I buy an OS I use it for what I want to use it for and install when and where I like. I dont like Microsoft breathing down my neck. All part of the ".net" strategy which will be almost obsolete by the time they release it.
Microsoft is a hell of a company - I will give them that but they move way too slow to get things done in any other way than to beat the hell out of the market until it submits to their flawed - half finished product. Not that Apple is all smiles. I think they sue more people than Microsoft (from what ive heard). I run Win 2000 Pro in Virtual PC on my Mac G4 with OS X and it is as fast as most PeeCees and I only have to use it when I am forced to. The Mac had its limitations but OS X has really taken care of business if you know how to use it. Most MS software is going that way. Cheers |

After checking it out again it looks like the problem is MS related. It messes up in MICROSOFT Internet Explorer for OS X. Maybe I forgot to register within 2 hours before my software initiated self-destuct sequence due to loss of contact with the main hive or something......my bad
