2000 Blazer Question - Service 4x4 light work?
This is really a question for the 2000 Blazer crowd. I have the 2dr LS 4x4 and my "service 4x4" light (right side of instrument cluster) does not light up when I first turn the key to indicate whether it is working or not. I noticed this soon after I bought the truck and the dealer told me my particular VIN range does not light up on startup. Is this true for the rest of you 2000 owners? I know the 2001 and on do as I have seen them do it.

Re: 2000 Blazer Question - Service 4x4 light work?
Sorry, I don't have a 2000 so maybe I shouldn't reply, but on my '98, all of the warning lamps are LEDs soldered into the circuit board. I would think your 2000 would be the same.
I don't know the newer Blazers too well, but does it have the automatic 4x4 mode (4 button)? My '98 Blazer is just the 3 push button 4x4 system. I see a Service 4x4 spot in my cluster, but the light never comes on. I found out that it only works on the automatic 4x4 models (4 buttons). If nobody else replies, I'll see what my gm book says about if it should come on with the Key On. |
