I currently have a am/fm radio in my truck, I boughta stock radio with a cd player out of a 2004 silverado off of ebay that was said to be new , and it looks that way . When I put it in it did'nt power up. I'm not sure if it needs a code or not .

Re: 2005 Radio Swap

double check the connectors, make sure they are on there good. If the radio is locked it will display a code on the radio "LOC". If that is the case we can unlock it for you.

Re: Re: 2005 Radio Swap

I have a 2004 Silverado with stock AM/FM radio. I upgraded it with a 2002 Delco "new" stock radio with cd and cassette included purchased from e-bay. Original has one 12 plug and 2002 has same 12 and smaller 6 plug. Connected the one 12 plug and it powered up and everything worked(tuner,cd cassette) ok except no sound. Yours should at least power up.

Re: 2005 Radio Swap

My '04 with AM/FM/CD only uses the larger of the two connectors. When I installed an XM add-on kit, it had pass-through connections for both connectors...so I just stuck them both in and left the smaller pass-through without anything in it. Everything works fine.
