Question Sr20det Pulsar vs. Sr20det silvia engine ??

I found a 1992 Pulsar GTiR here in the states for 9,990 the car is powerd by a sr20det. I know one of the diff. is that the pulsar is Awd but idk other than that. Are the parts interchangable? if not the same what are the main differences??

man pulsar gti-r's are dope! i hella want one... is it on ebay? i know they are kinda old school looking but i think hatchback 4wd is a cool idea. i think basically everything like intercoolers, bov, wastegate, internals, cams, intake is gonna be the interchangeable but im not sure.

Re: Sr20det Pulsar differnce?

No they aren't, nissan just named it sr20det because they are SIMILAR, not the same. Most of the parts are actually different. I am not sure but I think even the piston size in gti-r is different (not sure though)

WOW NO WAY! those SR's have independent throttle bodies! thats DOPE! man. holy crap.

I <3 ITB's!!! wow seriously that makes me want to swap the SR and get that intake manifold w/ the ITB's. my original dream for my car was going all motor/high. comp. with the KA and making ITB's but i have ditched that plan. but yeah i figured they shared the ATTESSA 4 wheel drive with the GT-R's, but i didnt think they would have ITB's too. that makes me want one so much more...

do you know the curb weight on the pulsar?

Re: Sr20det Pulsar differnce?

All i could find on weight so far is that it Weighs alittle less than a WRX One common problem is the gearboxes are weak?
Not really weak as such - just that the motor has too much power for it (ie. if the boost and clutch strength are increased.
If the clutch is up to the task, the next in line is the box - abuse it and it will break.
If you have about $7k spare you can have an uprated synchro gearset (PAR) fully installed
Also only 11000 were made. Due to the unsuccusful rally seasons

Re: Sr20det Pulsar differnce?

Ok so far this is what i have car wise
T28 Turbo
TMIC
440cc injectors
individual throttle bodies
ATTESSA
11000 made
0-60 5-5.5 1/4mile in 13-13.5
Upgrade the clutch or risk tearing up tranny.
if going over 300hp upgrade to FMIC
Cars have understeer at highspeed *more weight at front*
Also just found this http://www.gti-r.com/Reference/FAQv10.htm
