96 1.0L Where's the fuel filter?

Manual says under the master cylinder on the firewall. There is some thing next to the master cylinder that could be it, definately has fuel lines coming and going from it. Very small and has an orange top and black body.

When I asked the autozone for the part it looks nothing like what could be it on the fire wall. They handed me a sealed black metal can with in and out nubs.

Check underneath the car before the back tire and before the gas tank. I can't remember which side its on (driver/Passenger).

absolut,,, its on the drivers side between the spare tire and the gas tank or forward of the gas tank, i changed one in my 90 metro.
