Question ABS prob with 4X4 probs

i have a 99 XLT V6 auto. my abs went out with the snow in Michigan. i hit the breaks hard and i slid. dont know why still not wroking and is been about 2 weeks.

and about 4 days ago i was driving in the 4x4 high because of snow, and i just droped into 4x4 low wile i was going about 45mph. would not switch back into high so i sat on the sholder for about 5 mins then i tryed it agian, and it switched back into the auto functoin. and yes i know how to use the 4x4. its got 120k miles on it. 4 door

For one thing why were you going 45mph in 4x4?? That can do some damge. I believe that it will kick out if you go too fast. Is it working again now? Is the ABS light on. Could be a sensor or possibly the ABS pump. Have you checked the fuse yet? Good Luck
