Re: The sickest intake.

Very nice, but is it worth $625? I think get the price to about $250-$300 and we'd all be talking about it

I don't think that I would pay $625 or $725 for it but it looks sick.

They show the flow bench stats on the site. On pennocks there is a constant debate about what the 2.8 can push out n/a and most say nothing above 180ish Hp because of the intake and its many restrictions. Now I found a site where a guy trying to sell his fiero (about 5mins. away from me). He had his manifold ported and polished, big injectors, FPR, plugs, wires, and coil and is pushing 198hp. http://members.cox.net/fiero/#Engine

So is this manifold worth the money.....depends. If you can have your IM P&P to flow in the 375-425cfm range for less than 625 then go with that, BUT IF it cost more get the trueleo IM.

In the Omaha area there is a place that does machine work on cars. They charge $50/hr, I figure if it takes about 6 hours to get it to flow 400cfm then I won't get it, BUT IF it takes 12 hours I might as well.

Re: The sickest intake.

it takes a LONG time to port/polish and intake manifold, especially to get those numbers. it probably helps things to know what you are doing (which i did not), but still, its a very long and tedious process.

Re: The sickest intake.

This intake has shown to make power all the way upto 6500, yeah it raises the redline. I have ported and polished my intake and heads and it doesn't take long at all but to get those numbers is real difficult with the gm defective manifold we have.

Re: Re: The sickest intake.

fierangero,
What are the 202 heads you speak of in your signature, under "hot rod" mods?

Re: The sickest intake.

they are bigger heads, thats what my dad calls them, i think hes confusing them with ones for a 350, i know they are higher-flow, bigger heads.

Re: The sickest intake.

its going...i dropped the cradle, picked off all the parts, hoses, and wires, just need to pull it off the cradle and slap the new one on. degreased everything too, turns out the tranny was chromed! then gotta install all the goodies, replace the cradle bushings, and put it back in. its slow going, i have very little free time.
