Can't get your car out of PARK, guess what it the ????
It a wire that is connected to the ignition switch. As I just purchase a bird from the auction with no keys, so I had to purchase an new ignition switch. With worked out just find. Until I tried to put the car in drive.
I was dumb-founded, I looked back to see what I didn't do. There is a wired that clips on to the ignition assembly. It has a metal tab on the bottom of it, so if it not getting any contact with what ever it supposed to be contacting it wont let the car get out of park.
If you take off the steering column cover you see it. Well on the 1993 bird it is on the bottom. It a black wire (almost look like a ground wire)
Hey maybe that is it!! That is a ground to the circuit so when you press on the brake pedal, it completes it path and disengage the shifter lock.
Hope this helps.
