Best brake pads for LS?
I'm having a friend install some new pads for me next weekend, I've always used whatever the dealer suggested but might like a little more bite in the pads, any suggestions?

Re: Best brake pads for LS?
I love my porterfield r4s pads. Great stopping power and little to no squeal which is common after the OEM system is removed. Great stop as well.

Re: Best brake pads for LS?
I've used the Porterfield R4S and the EBC green pads. I prefer the EBC for the street. They fade a little sooner than the R4S pads, but they have better cold bite. The EBC pads haul me down from 140 just fine and handle "street" abuse well. That said, if I was going to be running on a track often, I would go with the Porterfield R4S or EBC blue pads.
Regardless, if you change pad compound, make SURE you resurface the rotors or you will be greeted by squeeling brakes and reduced performance. If they look good (the rotors), it should be sufficient to sand them well (impart new crosshatching) with 120-150 grit garnet or emery paper on a sanding block (don't use Aluminum oxide). Clean them well with solvent or soap and water after sanding. This process will ensure proper functioning of your new high performance pads.
