First time using aerograph!!
I'm going to use for first time my christmas present!!!
But first... how do u, expert modellers, mix the paint with the thinner?? My aerograph has this kind of jar in the upside( but I can't remove it, it's fixed. So do u mix the paint and thinner in a jar apart, and then when it's ready put it in the aerograph, or u throw the paint right to the aerograph and after it the thinner??? I hope u will be able to understand what I'm asking for, cause my english is a bit limited!!!! Thanks a lot guys!! toni |

Re: First time using aerograph!!
I've got a gravity fed airbrush too, with the fixed cup on top. If I'm doing a big job that will need several coats, I mix up a paint/thinner solution in a spare bottle. For smaller jobs I just mix it straight in the cup. Usually pouring a bit of thinner in first, then the paint, and then more thinner to get the rightish consistency. Sometimes I use pipettes, sometimes not.
Good luck, just have a go, make a mess or two, figure out why that didn't work, try something different, and you'll soon have it sorted.

Re: First time using aerograph!!
I use syringes. With them you can very accurately control the thinner/paint ratio, etc. Also easy to experiment to find the best ratio for you and then stick to it, and it's also very easy to then pour the mixture into the airbrush.

Eii, while u were answering me I was painting!!! jejeje. Yes I wanted to mean air brush, sorry!
Finally I stole this thing to make ice cubes to my mum, and there I mixed the paint and the thinner with a dropper!! I tried 60% paint and 40% thinner, more or less.. and it seems it works! Really I'm surprised, I thought that it would be a shit the first times, and that I will need a lot of time, but it's much better than spray, a lot of control with the paint!! My mum will let me do it at home!! With the sprays....she nearly put me out of home...jejejej I have to think better about the place to mix the paint and thinner, maybe a metallic stuff would be easy to clean after use it. Well thanks a lot!!!! Everybody who don't have a air brush yet, run and buy one!!! toni |
