The infiniti broke down tonight

On my way home tonight, I noticed a clicking noise coming from the engine bay. I keep going down the road just trying to make it home, then suddenly the clicking noise gets violently loud, my car dies and I have to coast into one of my friend's driveway. If you try to start it, it makes that terrible noise and dies. So its getting towed to the shop tomorrow morning. Doesnt look like I'll be driving it for awhile. Just thouht I would share

damn, that sucks man. it sounds bad though. were you driving it hard at all? did you check to see if you have any rods sticking out of the block?

I just got back from getting it towed to the shop. I should know the verdict by tonight. I wasnt driving it hard and nothing was sticking out of the block.

Had a small block chevy do the same thing way-back-when. Turned out to be a busted rod. Hope things fare better for you.

feel sorry for you man.. I am no better than you. I was one block away from my home last night. While i was making a turn and I saw this freaking rock on the road all of sudden, my front wheel ran over the curb; the tire/wheel got damaged. Towed my baby to infiniti today and they said around $1800 to get them repaired. Thinking about go somewhere to get it fixed instead... What u guys think?

Just got a call from the shop. He said he started it and it sounds like the engine is gone but they havnt tore into it yet. I should get a call from them tomorrow. I had 110,000 on it. About how much is a sr20de engine?

Feel bad for you bro, sounds like it may be a broken piston rod$$$$. Man I never ever take my G into the dealer. They will always stroke you, whenever I need somthing done, I always do it myself or find a specialty import shop.

Its not at the dealer, its at an imort shop. How much is a sr20de engine going to run me if my engine is gone?

Hey dude sorry about your car that does suck but listen u mind as well get the sr20det motor for it cause its prob gonna run about the same price im guessing for just the sr20de. I would if i had the chance to buy a new engine jsut buy the sr20det instead but its up to u. Price wise with labor id guess 5000 depending also on mileage where the sr20det with labor around my area could be dropped in for around 6000. just thought id tell u but do whatever ur wallet allows u too cause i know cash flow for me is the biggest issue on y i havent gotten my sr20det

Yea the motor wont be too much but its the labor that gets people i hate it i wish i knew how to put a motor in hahahahaha
