Tach Wire

I have a 1997 GMC Safari and i was wondering where the tach signal wire would be located and whether or not i would need a tach driver for it. i was also wondering if anyone else with a 2wd safari seems to be having "traction issues", this thing loves to let one of the rear tires loose , and thats with a brand new set of tires.I had read in this forum something about another forum for astros and safaris but i havent gotten any of the links to work is that web site still up? thanks to all who answer to my long winded post
