Re: where the action at

Let's just say there are some really daring people out there. I personally never race on the freeway. I don't like racing from a roll. Sometimes I will race from a roll though...if it's a car I really want to run..yes.

Re: where the action at

I've gone 130mph on a public road. I'll never do it again. I keep it under 100mph. Normally, I let off around 70ish or maybe 80...

Re: where the action at

I don't think 110 on the freeway is that bad. As long as there isn't any traffic around. I wouldn't even race if there is a car within 1/2 mile in front of me. I would be too scared that one of the douche bags would change lanes right before I passed him and.....

Summed up, don't be an idiot. I have the exact same question as you slickrick86. From what I've seen and heard on here, it seems like you will find more action out there. I may start going out to the highway when I get my car finished. Watch for patrol cars out there. I would at least get a radar detector first.

Nobody is really out right now due to the weather right now. Im not really sure if people go out on 469 or not. We usually just do a circle around the city...start at colliseum, turn onto lima, turn onto washington center, and then usually turn on coldwater and drive by hires were all the ricers are at. Sometimes if we get people to bite, we'll head out to US 30/33 where there is a good stop light, nobody ever around and its just a good few miles of nothing. Sometimes during the summer, a bunch of people from Halls Diner, which is the local hangout for cars, will all head out to US-27.

Btw, maybe ill see ya on the road since i live in fort wayne as well. Watch out for a black svt contour with black rims, and of course mine. (see sig).

Re: where the action at

Thumbs up fellow mr2'er

It seems to be easier to find a race on the freeway in my area, but its 90% of the time a ricer trying to showoff to his girlfriend or something.

I prefer races inside the city because I love the feel of launching and beating the other guy off the line, but they are hard to come by.

I really like going from a dig, but if I'm on my street tires, I usually persuade the competition to do a roll race. My truck is completely worthless out of the hole on my hard ass low profile nittos. Another reason I don't like to go from a dig with the street tires is because I'm all over the road when I launch, and I don't want to hurt my truck or more importantly anyone else I'm racing. I'd be a liar if I said I didn't do it both ways though. You know how things get in the heat of the moment.

Re: where the action at

Lol, that is the funniest picture ever...poor cat lol...anyways back to the topic...I like racing on the highway from a roll because it better suits my car...my car is pretty crappy from a dig, my car being an automatic with not that much torque to compensate it...I don't race that much anymore these days period though, so most of the time I don't have to worry about it.

Those pictures are actually linked off my cardomain page. He doenst have one, but heres a couple more pics. His engine mods include a 3.0L hybrid swap, K&N RU-3530 filter, Bassani catback, MSDS shorty headers, and a B&M shifter. He puts down 196 whp and runs a 14.4. We hope to tweek to few things this summer and hopefully he'll put down over 200 whp this May.
