Maybe somebody can explain me how to remove Taurus transmission. I know it is long "story" but I just need major steps.

1st: Support engine and transmission from above. As in, no weight on stub frame.
2nd: Remove Stub Frame (good luck with the lower ball joints!) These things can kill even the best mechanics. Make sure steering gear is supported or have fun with it after install of frame. 3rd:Have special tool for cooler lines. Or thread them out of case. Then they leak after threading them out 4th: Remove nuts for torque converter. 5th: Remove remaining bolts that attach transmission to engine. Also. Hope its not a SHO. Can't remember if they had SHO in '98. If you get hung up? Post, I'll hook you up... |

Can somebody explain with more details. I have to go to junk yard and pull transmission by my self, so I need some info.

Go buy a $15 Chilton or Haynes manual at an auto parts store!
