loud screeching noise like belt, dont know though

I have a 1990 civic hb. 4 speed manual. It makes a high pitch screeching noise towards the front driver’s side part of the engine bay like its coming from the a/c compressor. It kind of sounds like a belt gone wild and it lasts till I rev it up till it goes away or I drive and speed up till it fades away. I have been doing it for a year or so. It only happens when I use the a/c and the heater, when I start it till the engine warms up to the usual engine temp. examples... I start the car and turn the heater on it will start doing it quietly but not too quiet, so I rev and it gets loud but it goes away...then I drive off and lets say im in 2nd gear I down shift to 1st and it start up loud so I take off and it keeps doing it till I rev it up like crazy or go thru the gears till I get to a high speed where it fades away. Any questions?? Sorry this is long!!


Told it could be a/c pulley bearings?? I don’t know. Would heater make a/c pulley bearing make that noise?

Its your alternator, U have AC in a STD?

i'm thinkin itz ur belt...and if itz ur alt belt...itz a pain to get to

sometimes the belt just gets loose, happends all the time, check the tightness of your belts

I had the same problem as you Take quixilver's advice and crank that belt down. That should stop it.
