hello new to this forums. have ?

Hi, I have a 1998 acura integra LS with skunk2 intake and dc headers. 2 1/4 cat back and much more, but anyway.
The prob is that after i do my oil change, not even a mounth will go by and i will have almost no more oil. Now i have no leaks and no smoke. I don't get it. Also why does the car backfire so damn much? My civic don't do that with the same setup. thanks for any help

my car uses up oil fast too and i have no smoke. im doing compression test this weekend... and mine also pops a lil sometimes when i shift or let off the gas, i have 2 1/4" exhaust too. sounds like we have similar problems... i got my car smogged not too long ago and i only had aem Short ram and the exhaust and they said i barely passed because i was running rich... so i guess if im running rich then that could be the source of the minor backfiring. But anyways everyone else i talk to doesnt use as much oil as me... i have to keep a real close eye on it, i add prolly half a quart every 2nd time i fill up w/ gas LOL pray for me i dont want to find out i have bad compression that will ruin my day (week, month). oh mine is a 98 too im glad im not alone, maybe this oil shit is normal.

Hey, Integra's are known for this problem. Your not really going to see the smoke but if you smell the exhaust you will probably smell some oil. Its a timing problem, When the timing is off even by a degree it can casue the cam to lobe just enough to suck some oil out, That is why it also backfires alot.. Im not a expert but i am certified. Well thank you good sir. I am running the timing adv about 2 deg's so i'll set that back and see what happens.

I am putting a half every 2 to 3 gas fill up's also. I get kinda scared because when I ck the oil it is almost gone but i get no oil light. We will get this together!!! lol

Haha don't rely on the oil light. The oil light only comes on when there is NO oil pressure, meaning that the oil pump and oil system have no oil. Just a FYI.
So if your oil light comes on stop ASAP and put oil in.

No problem. just be carfull whne your adjusting the cam gears. Sometimes you can counter it with the distributor and bring it out a steady idol.

Also let me know what you thought of EC Performance.

Re: hello new to this forums. have ?

if this doesn't solve the problem, you may also look at the exhaust cam seal, as it tends to leak like crazy.
