94 Caravan trans sticks in gear

ok here we go again with yet another trans problem. I was driving my van for about a half hour then went around a curve and the trans downshifted and stayed there. Well i slowly drove it home and parked it. checked it out didnt see anything wronge ..fluid is good, not burnt and everything seems to be hooked up. Well took it back out on the road and now it works...hmmmmm Is there a ghost in there or what? Also there is a delayed reaction when i put it in drive. Any ideas?? oh and the fluid and screen was just replaced about 5 months ago but then was parked for 6 months cuz of a bad head gasket.(which was redone) now fighting with the trans Any thoughts?? the cheaper the better..lol

Well the first thing that comes to mind is did whoever changed the fluid put in the actual correct fluid? What fluid did they put in and what is the transmission supposed to take? Is it an A604?

Secondly, I'd venture to say that over 90% of the time someone tells you your transmission is toast on one of these things it is usually something electronic - unless of course you've been driving it for a coupel of months with the wrong fluid in it......
