'95 325i Problems

Hey everyone. I'm having some problems with my 5 speed manual:-

1) I can't pull away in 1st gear. It "pops" out as soon as the clutch is engaged.

2) I can't reset the date or clock and my internal computer seems to be acting up. It'll chime 3 times during a trip, first I thought it was the external temperature warning but it's not that...

3) "CD ERROR". (6 CD changer in trunk) The unit won't eject. Can it be fixed or what can I replace it with?

4) I need to get a replacement drivers side mirror.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

2) i think you have the same clock as me, there's a recessed button on the lower right that is just big enough to insert a pen tip in and push it to reset the clock

You are out of luck on a 1995 with factory cd changer. They all go bad like that and 1995 was a odd-ball year. They do not sell any splitter, connector or adapter for the 1995 unit. Pre 1995 and post 1995 there are such devices that will make a pioneer cd changer fit and communicate with the stereo. We had a 1995 (great car) but the cd changer was a nightmare. Always error and always had to pry cds out of it. Change out of enitire system is only solution (new stereo and changer etc...) Also, check the plastic cap and fuel-line nipple under the back seat on the drivers side for fatigue. Ours cracked and it flooded the rear area under the seat with gas...not much fun when driving down the road. It looks live a black cap with two nipples whcih stick into black rubber fuel lines.

Its like every day I find a new problem with this car. How come when i get in the car after a while it automaticly locks. Is there any way to unlock the door from the inside without having to turn the ignition off ??

Its a built in security feature still used to this day. Nice thing is you cannot lock your keys in a BMW if you leave it operable. The E-36 era 3 series BMWs like yours are some of the best engineered most desired cars. With a few small upgrades you can have a car that can out perform/handle most all eruopean types. The cars are very easy to work on. I would buy the simple repair book found at 'auto-zone' that covers your car. I did that and was able to replace a water-pump, repair window motor and replace rotors and brake pads just with the instructions and photos in that cheap 'Hayines' manual. Brake light bulbs also tend to give some trouble in 1995 including a irrating readout saying brake light failure...turned out to be a simple switch located under the brake pedal.

Thanks for the reply. Excuse my lack of knowledge about this stuff.

What is a worn sychro and how can it be fixed? I've also noticed that my engine (RPMs) runs very high at speed...any ideas?

I think I'm going to have to replace my obc, everything else seems to be working except the clock, and there's no reset button. I have the 18 button one.

If your engine is running at high rpm, you need to shift gears... j/k you probably mean at idle. You need to adjust you Idle Control Valve (ICV). Do a quick quick google on adjusting the idle speed with the ICV cause there's lots of info on the web on how to do this. basically just tweak a screw
