2004 Grand Caravan - malfunction light/stalling

I have a 2004 Grand Caravan with 7500 miles on it. A few days ago after filling up the gas tank - the Malfunction Indicator light came on - so I took out the manual and it said it could have been from putting the gas cap on wrong. So I redid the gas cap but the light stayed on - I called the dealer and they said it takes a while for the light to go out. The next morning the light was out for a while - then came back on and now the van is sputtering almost like it is going to stall out. The malfunction light is still on. I have an appointment for it next week - has anyone else had this problem. Could it have been a bad tank of gas?

I've got a 2002 Town and County and I have not had that problems but would like to hear what the problems was when you find out. Thanks

I wanted to let people know about this problem. The problems kept getting worse - the van could not get out of its way - especially on hills and the "rotten egg" smell was awful. I took it in for service -this is a problem that there was a Technical Bulletin released to the dealers on April 2004 for this vehicle. The fix was to replace the spark plugs and wires and reprogram the engine control. Is running fine now.

Did you find out the problem? Mine is doing the exact same, and it is Sunday so no dealers are open to get it in!
