Thumbs up Aveo winter driving

I know I was curious about how this car would handle in the winter since winter here lasts at least 5 months with lots of snow. So, here's my assessment. This car actually handles quite well in the snow even with the stock tires. I didn't notice any side to side movement that I would have expected when driving about 40mph in a few inches of snow. Starting in the snow isn't bad either. Starting in 2nd gear got me going rather quickly. Stopping without ABS hasn't been a problem either. I'm not a big fan of ABS and most of my cars have not had it so I'm used to stopping without it. In the past I have driven a full size chevy pickup, pontiac sunfire, hyundai elantra, geo storm, and ford festiva. The only other car that handled this well in the snow was the pontiac sunfire. I certainly don't feel invinsible, (like all these people driving SUVs) but I do have the confidence in this vehicle that if I drive with care in bad weather I will get to my destination without incident.
