Question Should I Wash My Engine Bay..?

Tomorrow i'm gonna be buying a hose along with a nozzle that has several settings (flat/rain/stream/high pressure etc) to wash my car. I finally found a hot and cold faucet outlet in the boiler room of the apt complex i live in to hook it up to.

Should i clean my engine bay..? You guys done it..? I read up on it, and i know the precautions like cover the alt/plug rotors/elect things etc. But i wonder HOW successful i would be just spraying on my engine degreaser (greased lightning orange-buy it) letting it sit for 20 minutes, then giving it a high pressure wash..

Would that alone take off built up grease, like towards the lower pulley, and on the valve covers..? I might just give it a shot, it's gonna be like 40 deg/sunny for the next 6 days here on LI.

Also, would you use HOT or COLD water to rinse the cool engine..? I figure hot would be better..

Re: Should I Wash My Engine Bay..?

DAMN....

Today i cleaned the entire engine bay, and dressed her up with armor all-NICE. I used the aluminum foil method to cover electronics/alternator etc..

I literally wasted a whole 64oz bottle of greased lightning on the engine bay, gave it a hell of a spray down after like 10 minutes with my hose that has that JET shot wash. Incase you want to know HOW to drees up the hoses/valve covers/intake up, just mist on armor all-the foam for you tires, use it here. I held it like 3ft away, sprayed some on and wiped it all over the upper hose, intake housing, valve covers, hoses etc.
