1996 Sunfire GT starting problem
Since I have had this car, I have had wierd problems with it. It stalled at a stop light and the speedometer was jumping up and down as well as the rpm tach. Then it stalled and would not start again. I had a similar problem a while back when I was driving it dropped the rpms down as I was driving and I pulled off of the road and it died. The only thing that I noticed that all the lights were on but the theft light was on. Since now I had it towed, is it the theft system that could be causing it not the fire over and turn the fuel pump on to send fuel? I read some of the threads and they state that others had somewhat of this problem and they had to get the system removed out of the car. It doesn't have a alarm on the car, so I am assuming that it is the ignition switch and if it is tampered, then it triggers it. I pulled the battery post off and let it sit to reset and no luck. Any help?

Re: 1996 Sunfire GT starting problem
There was a recall on the ignition switch on these cars. IT would go bad. The alarm only keeps you from starting the car. IT won't kill it after you've started it.
