Is my galant having tranny problems?

I have a 1997 mitsubishi galant with 130k miles on it. I just noticed this today, When i step of gas really hard, Trying to accelerate the car really fast- it seems like my car goes into a high gear and stay stuck there. So the rpm goes to 3k and it seems like its trying to go into high gear but it cant, slight buzzing sound. Is it normal for the driver to feel the gear shift while stepping on gas really hard?

I have an automatic tranny. On lower gear when i gently step on gas..the gear seem to change smootly with no porblems.


Mitsubhishis are well know for tranny problem...I dont know if mine is showing symtoms, and If I should worry about it. Any help will be appreciated.

I guess the sooner you get it checked out professionally, the less damage you will continue to cause driving it in that condition.
