feel real bad

I struggeld all the way through high school and barley made it. My parents made me go all the way they would not let me drop out. MY brother is the same way, now my parents are letting him take his G.E.D and i got pissed because i hatted high school and there letting him take the easy way out.
When i was his age i had to have a job to get my car and i payed most of it. My parents gave me $200 and i had to pay them back. He got his car and he doesnt even have a job and i blew up at them for always letting him have it easy and making me take the hard way. They told me thats because they know that i am alot stronger and will make it no matter what.
The reason i feel bad is my dad broke his back and just had 3 back surgerys 2 months ago. He is in alot of pain and his mom died 4 months ago and he is really depressed. The doc is making him take medicine and he started crying when said what they know was true and he told me that he always knew since we were little i would achieve alot more things than my younger brother. I have an auto degree (the only real thing i good with) and am opening my own buisness. I know they are proud but i think that if they pushed him as hard as they did me he would also do great things. Also on sat. i am getting a pressous moments angel tattood on my back in memmory of my grandma with the verse from the bible she had put on ther tomb stone before she died do u think it would upset him or just not show him it.

Re: feel real bad

Definately talk to him about it before you do it. Also understand your own motivations before getting it done.

Re: feel real bad

Don't feel bad. Thank your parents for pushing you. Imagine where you'd be without a high school diploma? Talk with your parents, and try to convince them to push your brother as well. Heck, try talking to him yourself. Tell him to think about his future. And about that tatoo, I don't think an angel on your back is very manly.

Re: feel real bad

I dont care about it being manly. I have my name in old english on my right forearm and i have a huge joker that takes up my left forearm the skull is bad ass. I have a few others. I loved my grandma alot she was always there and i want something to always remember her by (she loved angels). If my parents wouldnt of pushed me and got me off drugs i would either be a bum on the streets or dead right now and i tried to push my brother and they have a little but the more he gets pushed the worst he does.

Re: feel real bad

that's really what I'm afraid is going to happen to my little brother. Hang in there. I know how you feel.

Life doesn't make sence, it's not suppose to. Just work your arse off, never give up and always appreciate what you have. Know what you want, and get used to dissapointment.

Re: feel real bad

its sad to see but i can relate. My lil brother is just like yours. I didnt need alot of pushing in school, but i always got pounded if my GPA feel below a 3.0 or i didnt have a job, or i was wasting my money. My lil brother barely graduated, since he has graduted he has done nothing with his life. Hes going to school to be a cop, but he wont make it. Hes not aggressive enough. My parents dont push him at all, and hes failing life miserably.
