96 Taurus Dome Light Stays On
My Taurus dome lights were staying on today. I lubed all the door latches / switches with WD-40. Solved the problem.... just thought I would post.... took a while for me to discover the solution.....

Re: 96 Taurus Dome Light Stays On
WD-40 is a water dispersal compound and will only work as a lubricant for a short time, then it will become gummy and attract dust. Lithium grease will last longer and it is also available in spray cans.

Someone should tell the folks at WD40 this and maybe they will shut down production.

Just spray lubricant directly into it, you might need to do it more than once.

Re: 96 Taurus Dome Light Stays On
after spraying the wd 40 in the latches, slam each door 5 to 10 times
to completly work the lubrication to the switch.seems to work for the real stubborn ones. |
