GST vs. Ferrari 550

Ouch well I'm still regretting flooring my car and yet again beating the hell out of it for a few minutes. I should really just control my tendancies and leave the future races as "challenges" and nothing more. GAH, I hate beating up on my car for no reason at all, so hopefully this will be my last race.

On with the story. Sunny day today, few clouds here and there, coming home from my friends house and as I'm about to turn on my signal to switch lanes a Ferrari 550 Maranello just comes blasting past me. Being the douche bag that I am with these sort of things, I take the bait and go for it.
A few miles down the road I eventually catch up with him in his silver beast, and it turns out he is with his son as well. As we are starting to come up on a incline, his little son points to my car, the dad shakes his head, switches lanes at a ridiculously fast speed, and just floors it up the hill. I downshift into second and TRY to follow, but, it was just like my car had nothing left in it....
Up the hill, down the hill, catch up to him by the golf course. We slow down for traffic for a bit and I eventually catch up to his bumper, but once he gets an opening, he switches but slows down a bit. I do the same, and pull up along side him and smile because, even though I pretty much see Ferrari's daily, this was the first one that seemed like he enjoyed actually driving his car.
Well, before long... Into second, it spikes to 17psi, goes back to 15, and I take off (in relative terms). It must have been about 0.5 seconds of me feeling fast before there was this loud LOUD buzzing sound in my right window and he blows past me while shifting into the next gear. After I see him slow down we get into heavy traffic and he turns into his gated community with a little chukkle i suppose, and I flip a bitch at the next stoplight and head on home.

You know, these things really make me want to completely stop doing anything to my car and just let the pro's handle the speed...and we keep whatever reliability I have left. But we all know thats not gonna happen, so I'm going to leave this as my last race and throw in the towel for now because my clutch must have gotten the hell beaten out of it along with the tranny and the little T25. Even though I've announced the retirement, I'll still be on the boards and all.
Oh and I crapped on some black civic today, but not really worth a new thread or anything, and truly was a waste of expensive gas for me.

Re: GST vs. Ferrari 550

Haha yeah right this is your last race. Maybe for today/tonight.

O well getting your ass kicked is always fun, especially by a ferarri, but hitting 17psi on the T25 will definitely murder it.

I have no car tonight dammit, the shop I had left it at hadn't even started working on it (even though I left it overnight for this particular reason) and then they literally doubled the prices of the work they were going to do, of course without telling me. If i hadn't showed up randomly cause I'm a nazi with my car, they would have done the work and charged me double.

anyway, good death

Re: GST vs. Ferrari 550

ehhh the T-25 spikes to 16 or so for like....0.5 seconds. Not a bad thing if its just spiking, but since there is no more racing, the boost is going down to 12...and staying there.

haha I've realized that saying you're not gonna drink only makes it that much more fun to drink

I would have only paid the amount that they qouted me for, and told them to sue me for the rest. At least in Michigan the shop has to notify you if the price of the work goes up, it's the law.

my friend came to my house with his new dirtbike its a 230cc and weighs 200 lbs.. all i can say is that thing has balls.. but i wouldnt think that it had a chance against my sentra.. so we tried it out and he got a slight head start and then i floored it and he was ahead of me until 50, i was pretty pissed, he thinks he beat me. if we did it from a stop and both gunned it at the same time he might hang a lil but he wouldnt get ahead..
