Radio problem in 93 SL2

I'm having a strange problem with the factory radio in my 93 SL2. After I've been driving for about 30 minutes, I get very poor radio reception where it should be strong. I try scanning the channels and it cycles endlessly, unable to tune to a signal.

If I park the car and try again an hour later, the radio reception is fine. This never used to happen.

Any ideas?

ok 1 check your fuses just in case. 2 take the deck out and see if the antenna connection is tight. do you have a different antenna? like a shorty antenna or anything like that could change it.

if worse comes to worse its your deck that has a problem and you can find them on ebay for like 10 bucks

Ok, I'll take a look at my fuses this weekend. Wouldn't you expect the radio not to work at all if the fuse was bad, rather than just getting really poor reception?

I haven't changed the antenna, pulled the deck out, or anything. The strange thing is that everything works great for the first 30 minutes after starting the car.
