99 SL Body Kits

I have a 99 SL, and I kinda want a good looking body kit to put on it, but everywhere I look there's only kits from 93-98. How come they all stop at 98? And the car itself doesn't look much different to me as far as body, so can I put the 93-98 body kits on my 99? If you know where I can find 99 kits, please link me to them thanks!

Re: 99 SL Body Kits

woah...what's wrong with you man? when you have a '99...you don't put on a body kit...and you especially don't convert to 98 or earlier. Maybe sideskirts and a rear bumper....hmm wait a minute...i'll trade you my 94 front bumper and headlights (you'll need both) for your headlights and front bumper. Deal? Then you'll be able to buy any body kit you want.

Re: 99 SL Body Kits

ahh the Shogun not bad...well you want to sell me ur headlights and bumper when you're done? i'll buy them. Anyways the reason the body kits stop at '98 is because of the front bumper and headlight change...basically to use any of the 94-98 body kits you would need 94-98 headlights to go with them. I'm pretty sure there's no fabricating involved, so it shouldn't be difficult. I've never seen anyone selling kits for a 99, since most people want to convert to 99 instead of a body kit, so can't help ya there.

Re: 99 SL Body Kits

Only thing that sucks about the 99 is the rear garnish, just get a GTO one or a stock second gen one. There is something wrong with you if you think the ebruni looks better than the 99 bigmouth, stick with what you have and just get the rear garnish and some HIDs and a tint job, thats what I would do for looks, either that or some good wheels.

Re: 99 SL Body Kits

Some people think its not kosher to have a GTO garnish withought the J-spec engine at least but I don't care since they are basically the same car and it would be the GTO here if only there weren't one here already. HIDs are a lighting system thats much brighter and whiter even blue if you like....
(but I don't). HID stands for High Intensity Discharge, there are lots of threads on it on 3SI.

Re: 99 SL Body Kits

I don't like the 99 headlights. The bumpy "eyes" just looks weird to me. I like the 94 headlights best except for the whole fogging deal. :o/ Love the front bumber of a 99 though!!!

I also have a beef with my head lights....I like the way they look, but they have this hazyness on the glass. Know of to clear those up? I know its minor, but it really bothers me for some reason.

I saw a CRX hatch and an integra, and another civic and a neon, all within the last 2 days.
They all had that bumper.

Re: 99 SL Body Kits

3sx perfromance makes a pretty sick looking 2 piece lip for the 99's, and I believe a japanese company called Pitroad M sells a full body kit for every year 99 as well.

Re: 99 SL Body Kits

if i were u i would stick with the stock front bumper, or get another front bumper other than erebuni. with that bumper ur gonna scrape it like crazy. my bumper scrapes some with stock suspension, but that one goes out further and is lower, so i could just imagin what it would be like.

Re: 99 SL Body Kits

You deserve to be punched if you think any bodykit aside from maybe the Pit Road M looks better than a 99 front bumper. The body of any 99 should be left alone, its gorgeous and very few were made.

I'll trade you my 94 with sponsorship and everything for your 99. then you can call up my sponsors and get bodykits, wings, carbon-fiber, whatever. well if you insist on it then here www.importfan.com has the pitroad M kit for your car.

I despise you.........99.....bodykits......neons........bah!

BOOYAAH.
