rb question
i was looking through some rb info and came across where a guy stated that the rb26 is just a bored and stroked rb25. is that true??? so would it be safe to say that you would bore a 2.5 to a 2.6 and throw in some rb26 pistons and rods???? or is there a lot of different parts that go with it....because if it were feasible it would be a good way to go because after xxx,xxx miles you should bore your engine to make it straight and true again and a rb25 clip is cheaper than the 2.6.....just curious thnks

Re: rb question
where did you read this? i hope it wasn't the rb faq.. if it wasn;t then check it out.. i'm pretty sure there's enough of a difference that you can't swap pistons

Re: rb question
The RB26 is twin turbo but is basically the same block. It HAS a different crank shaft allowing for more displacement. I believe the bore is the same. The same is true for the RB28 and RB30.

Re: rb question
^ Right-o... most if not all RB's have the same block... just different internals! BTW: They have stroker kits for RB25's to 2.6 liters and RB26's to 2.8 liters... cool stuff.

Re: rb question
duh i know rb26 is TT....besides the main differences how much different are they, because i dont think that nissan would drastically change the 25 and 26. so your saying that the pistons are the same size just difference in crankshaft....rods too? another question....if you have crank and rods from a 2.6 and fit it in the 2.5 wouldnt taht be considered the 2.6 "stroker kit"???

Re: rb question
Yep. You would also need a different head.

Re: rb question
Biggest difference between RB25 and RB26 is the head, different valvetrain and RB26 has individual throttle bodies and better intake manifold (or maniflow as a cashier where I work says), anyways, RB25+stroker is not RB26 like SR20DET+stroker is not KA24.
