front speakers in dash

Blew the front speakers mounted in my dash of 2000 GC. I've been told that the dash panel over the speakers can be popped out with a screw driver. Anyone ever do this? I would prefer some feedback before trashing the dash panel. thanks

Should pop right out with lil resistance, might wanna use a trim puller or something tho to keep from scratching the plastic. Hope this helps....
