Is Hondata (and others like it) really necessary for turbo??
I was just curious. Do you really need hondata or some other system for turboed cars? What are the disadvantages of not having it?

some turbo kits come with a bypass valve for the MAP sensor, this will trick your stock ECU from going into "safe mode". the reprogramming by HonData eliminates this need & erases the fuel cutoff/rev limiter.

if you're going to run more than 10 psi, it is highly recommended that you get a standalone.

Yeah, I just decided I'd end up going with the new expensive ass $1500 AEM one so I can keep the use of my OBDII computer.
